Dr. Sonja Novkovic, Co-Director, winner of this year's CASC Award of Merit
Each year at their annual conference, the Canadian Association for Studies in Co-operation acknowledges the contributions of a special co-operator by awarding them the CASC Award of Merit. The award recognizes the outstanding leadership and contributions to the field of Co-operative Studies, their mentorship of students and others in understanding the intricate workings of co-operatives, and to acknowledge their on-going support of CASC. In June (2010) Dr. Sonja Novkovic was awarded this distinction for her ongoing contribution to co-operative studies as well as CASC. As an economist, Sonja brings a unique analysis to co-operative studies. She served on the CASC board for three years and contributed countless hours to the development of the association. Three other Measuring the Co-operative Difference Research Network members have also been honoured with this award in prior years; Prof. Ian MacPherson, Dr. Lou Hammond Ketilson and Dr. Leslie Brown.
